WPL News Update

WPL players put on an impressive display Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Northwest PDP event.

The 2008 boys and 2007 girls showed their talent and skill to US Club Soccer's National Scout Gerry McKeown. And now he will repay their talent and hard work by selecting at least five players from each gender (maybe more) to the id2 national camp in December. This is far more than anyone anticipated!

McKeown said the talent level of both genders was very high. He complimented the clubs that developed these players. US Club will contact the selected players directly. Selected players will attend the three-day national camp in Arizona that will host US National team scouts and other national coaches who will put the players through an intensive camp experience similar to the national team camps.

The top 18 players of both genders will be selected to compete against pro-youth academies in Europe or Latin America. All costs except airfare are covered. We want to extend a hearty thanks to the talented players but also their clubs that developed them. This is proof that WPL clubs are producing talent that can compete with anyone across the state or beyond.

It was a good day for WPL clubs and their programs. It was an even better day for their players!
