Friday Night Soccer Skills

Friday Night Soccer Skills is a supplemental training program designed for players who want additional development outside of their regular team environment. Sessions emphasize technical quality, decision-making, and confidence in game situations, using a consistent structure that supports learning through play. The program is open to all players and operates independently from team placement or evaluation.

Who It's For

This program is open to players ages U7–U15 from the broader community. Participants include recreational and select-level players, current HPFC players, players exploring competitive soccer for the first time, and players looking for structured training without a full-season commitment.

How It's Used

Friday Night Soccer Skills is often used by players seeking extra touches on the ball, players preparing for upcoming tryouts, and players who want structured training without a full-season team commitment. It is also commonly recommended for players continuing development through camps and clinics after team placement decisions.

What Sessions Emphasize

Each session is built around a technical theme and reinforced through guided play and applied decision-making. Activities are designed to help players connect individual skills to game situations in a supportive, game-based environment.

Technical Skill

Sessions focus on ball mastery, passing and receiving, dribbling, finishing, and first touch through repetition and guided activities.

Game Understanding

Players are introduced to spacing, movement off the ball, and decision-making within realistic game scenarios.

Game-Based Learning

Most instruction is delivered through small-sided games and applied activities rather than static drills.

Goalkeeper Component

Goalkeepers participate in dedicated one-hour training blocks embedded within the program. This is the primary goalkeeper training opportunity offered through Friday Night Skills.
